Republican National Convention through the eyes of a Bush Whacker

It is obviouse that the Republicans are going to try to sway voters, but in the process they will tell a lot of lies and say some things that are meant to screw people over, so to respond to their propaganda machine, We will be writing a response to everything that goes on in their little convention. Below is a full description of the truthful side of the RNC. Enjoy!

RNC= Rotten Nasty Crooks

The convention started off great, The day before was a massive protest in front of Madison square garden. This was a awesome display filled with peaceful protesters, and a few anarchists, of all walks of life. They had really cool signs such as" Yee-Hah is not a foreign policy", and "Pink Slip Bush" there were many of these and it was very exciting. There were even naked protesters!

Well, thats the good part. As soon as the actual convention started, the lies began to roll. And to quote New Found Glory, " It's all down hill from here." Allow me to break it down for you.....................

The Republicans used a strategy I like to call, "putting lipstick on the pig." You see, The new Republican is extremely Right Wing and mean spirited and far more conservative than mainstream America. Instead of having there far right wing leaders speak about their true agenda, they invite the most liberal members of there party, who don't even agree with Bush on most things, to speak and deceive the public. Such speakers include, George Pataki, Rudi Guilianni, Arnold Schwarzenneger, and John McCain.

The next despicable act carried out by the Convention was the politicizing of 9/11! They made it seem as though the Republican party was the party of 9/11, and made the deaths of those ppl a tool for there political campaign. This is a disgrace to the victim's and families of 9/11. This tragic event in our history does not belong to one party to use for there political benefit!!!

I could rip to shreds every single speech given by the convention, but instead I will focus on Zell Miller's Speech. Zell accused Kerry to get rid of certain weapons systems. This is True, however, this was a project pushed by the department of defense, headed at the time by DICK CHENEY. Also, this was right after the cold war's end, so the need for these systems had passed and several became obsolete. He also stated several of Kerry's "plans" Which he said in 1970. Not in the race for 2004. Zell's speech wasn't even half truthful.

But the biggest bucket of lies came in the form of "dubya's" speech. First of all he tried to politicize 9/11. Which as I explained before is morally wrong. He lied about several things, including his plan for overtime hours. He said he protected peoples over-time hours, yet in actuality he took the right to overtime pay away from 6 MILLION people. Wow, that's some protection! He as his supporters would so graciously say, "flip-flopped" within five minutes of his speech. He said that programs such a Social Security, and Medicare, and Direct funding for people in need were a "
way of the past", which means he would get rid of them. Five minutes later he talked about giving direct funding to those for Health Care, which would be great except for the fact that five minutes earlier he said this was a way of the past and he would GET RID OF IT!!! He also said that people should have control over there own decisions, except five minutes later he spoke about passing a constitutional ammendment saying who we can and can't marry. If you want to give people control of their lives, SHOULDN"T THEY BE ABLE TO MARRY WHO THEY WANT!?! He spoke about giving federal funding to Religious charities, even though he has taken it away from secular ones. However, if you read the first ammendment of the constition of the United States, it says "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion." Well obviously Bush didn't read the constitution before making this decision, or the Patriot Act for that matter. Bush went on to lie by saying that Saddam Hussein was a threat to us, yet finding NO weapons of Mass Destruction or connection to Al Qaeda, he can make no solid, or any, evidence that Saddam Hussein was a threat to us. Bush also had several blunders in which he desecrated the English Language, But what is new?

Overall This was a "lipstick on the pig" convention in which George Bush and his cronies tried to lie about there own policies and about John Kerry's. If they have to lie doesn't it show that they know deep down that they are wrong? This convention also had an extremely negative tone to it, At the Democratic Convention, John Edwards spoke of the democratic vision for the future, yet Dick Cheney viciously attacked, and lied about, John Kerry. This vicious slew of lies shows that they cannot defend their own record, or show a reasonable plan for the future.

There will most likely be a small boost in Bush's poll numbers after the convention, but have no fear, within weeks it will normalize and we will be back to a dead heat. I would however like to point out that John Kerry is doing better than any challenger has in the past before the Incumbant's convention, John Kerry has already made up this ground, so now he has the last two months to steadily move ahead to inevitably crush George Bush in November.
